Recipe - Indian style spicy grilled chicken

People get confused this appetizer with tandoori, but this is completely different. Tandoori chicken needs a special grill for that known as Tandoor and cooked in insanely high temperatures like 500 C (900 F) for 5-8 mins. But this is cooked with a regular grill and we cook at 400 to 450 F for 15 to 20 mins with slightly different seasoning.

Here is the recipe

  • Prep time: 10 mins
  • Marinate: 1 hr
  • Cooking: 20 mins
  • Serves: 4 people
  • tastes best with beer

Ingredients:

For  10 mid-large pieces of chicken (legs or thighs), marination ingredients:

  • chili powder: 3  spoons
  • salt: 1/2  spoon
  • cinnamon powder:  2 spoon (or Garam masala)
  • Corriander: 1/2 spoon
  • lime juice: 4 spoons
  • ginger garlic paste: 1/2 spoon (optional)
  • curd / yogurt : 1 spoon (optional)

Marinate:

  • Make deep cuts on meat on the thicker parts, if possible reach halfway through the bone.
  • Mix all the ingredients with lime juice or add a spoon curd or yogurt to lube the mixture.
  • apply the mixture to meat and mix it thoroughly.
  • allow it to marinate for 45 mins, in the refrigerator and later 15 mins in room temperature.
Broil
  • put the oven to broil., let the oven heat up for 10 mins. Meanwhile, apply butter, ghee or oil to a pan and place the pieces flat.
  • broil the pieces for 10 mins and turn the pieces upside down, let it for 5 more mins and spray butter or oil.
  • Turn the oven to 400 C and allow it for 5 mins and turn it off.
  • take the pan out and repeat the same broil procedure for the rest of the pieces.
  • rest the cooked pieces for 5 mins and garnish with coriander leaves, chopped onions, and lime juice.
Ready to serve with Beer.
